Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Who you are dealing with

The Circle Clinic is run by Ishana Durante-Bose as a sole trader.

  • The Circle Clinic, Rapenburg 17, 2311 GE Leiden, The Netherlands
  • Chamber of Commerce (KVK): 85431346
  • VAT (BTW): NL004092677B81
  • NIP registration: 236055
  • Email: info@thecircleclinic.com
  • Phone: +31 6 1313 4670

Where these terms say “I” or “me”, that means The Circle Clinic. Where they say “you”, that means you, whether you are a client, a customer of the shop, or just reading the website.

2. What these terms cover

Three different things, and the parts that apply to you depend on what you are doing:

  • Section 3 covers using the website
  • Section 4 covers therapy, workshops, support groups and other services
  • Section 5 covers buying digital products from the shop

If we have signed something specific, such as an informed consent form for therapy, that document takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.

3. Using the website

Everything on this website is written to be useful, and none of it is a substitute for actual care. Reading a blog post is not the same as being in therapy, and nothing here constitutes a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation for you personally.

The words, images and materials on the site belong to me, or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, share a link, and quote a short passage with credit. Please do not republish whole pieces, or use the content commercially, without asking first.

I keep the site accurate and available as best I can, but I cannot promise it will never be offline or never contain a mistake.

This is not an emergency service

If you are in crisis, do not use the contact form and wait. Contact your huisarts, the huisartsenpost, call 112, or call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie on 0800 0113. They are available around the clock.

4. Therapy and other services

Getting started

Getting in touch is not a commitment. You fill in the contact form with your name, email and who you would like to work with. I or Luzina reply, and pass your details to that therapist so they can contact you directly.

If the person you chose is not available, we will suggest someone else and ask before passing your details on. You are free to say no.

A working relationship begins once you and your therapist have agreed to start, and you have signed an informed consent form. That form sets out how the work runs, and is the document that governs your therapy.

Who you might work with

The people working at The Circle Clinic hold different qualifications, and I’d rather be straightforward about that than vague:

  • Ishana Durante-Bose holds an MSc in Clinical Psychology and is registered with the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP 236055)
  • Laura holds an RMSc in Clinical Psychology and is also a NIP-registered psychologist, working as a freelancer
  • Lizzie and Divya are completing clinical practice internships and work under supervision
  • Luzina handles administration and does not provide therapy

I work in line with the NIP Code of Ethics for Psychologists and applicable Dutch law, including the Wet op de Geneeskundige Behandelingsovereenkomst (WGBO). I engage in supervision and intervision with fully registered psychologists, which is a professional requirement.

Fees, cancellations and endings

  • Session fee: I work on a sliding scale, so your fee reflects your financial circumstances rather than one fixed rate. Individual sessions run from €80 to €140 per hour depending on income band (reduced-fee places with an intern therapist are also available, from €40 to €120). Couples and polycule sessions run from €180 to €240 per 1.5-hour session. Your fee is agreed with you before your first session and can be adjusted later if your circumstances change. The full bands are set out in the Payment Information document you’ll receive when we start working together.
  • Session length: Individual sessions are 60 minutes. Couples and polycule sessions are 1.5 hours, or 2 hours for an additional proportionate fee. Sessions run longer than the standard length are charged proportionally.
  • Payment terms: I invoice you on the first Thursday of each month for the previous month’s sessions, payable by bank transfer or cash. If you need another method, let me know and I’ll try to accommodate it. There are also optional prepaid packages of 5 or 10 sessions with a small discount, paid upfront – you can stop at any time and I’ll refund whatever’s unused.
  • Cancellation: I need at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or move an individual session.

Insurance: Dutch health insurance typically does not cover this therapy, so sessions are usually private pay. International insurance or organisations sometimes do cover it – if that applies to you, let me know and I can help with whatever documentation your insurer needs.

Fees are reviewed periodically and may change. If your fee changes, I will always give you notice beforehand.

Either of us can end the work. If you want to stop, you can, at any time – you don’t have to explain why. If I believe I’m not the right person to help you, or that you need care beyond what I can safely offer, I’ll say so and help you find something more suitable.

Workshops, support groups and courses

Places are limited and confirmed once payment is received. If a workshop is cancelled by me, you get a full refund. If you need to cancel your place, I ask for at least two weeks’ notice.

5. Buying from the shop

This section applies when you buy a digital product, such as a toolkit or a downloadable resource.

Prices and payment

All prices are in euros and include VAT where it applies. Payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal, and your card details go straight to them. They never reach me or this website.

Delivery

Digital products are delivered by download or email link, normally immediately after payment. If something does not arrive, email me and I will sort it out.

Your right to change your mind

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason.

Digital content is the exception. When you buy a download and access it straight away, you are asked to confirm two things at checkout:

  1. that you want delivery to start immediately, and
  2. that you understand this means you lose your right of withdrawal once the download begins

If you have not yet accessed the download, the 14 day right still stands, and you can email me for a refund.

If a product is faulty, not as described, or does not work, that is a different matter entirely. Tell me and I will refund you. Your statutory rights are not affected by anything in this section.

6. If something goes wrong

Please tell me or Luzina first. Email info@thecircleclinic.com and we will respond within 5 working days. Most things are fastest to resolve directly, and I would genuinely rather hear it than not.

If we cannot resolve it between us:

  • For a complaint about psychological practice or professional conduct, you can raise it with the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP), whose complaints procedure is published at psynip.nl.
  • For a complaint about a purchase, EU consumers can use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
  • For a complaint about how your data has been handled, see the Privacy Policy, which explains your right to complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

7. Liability

I take my work seriously and carry professional indemnity insurance.

Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit me to limit. Subject to that, my liability for any claim connected to services or products bought from me is limited to the amount you paid for the service or product in question.

I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes that fall outside my reasonable control.

8. Your data

How I handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, and cookies are covered in the Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to you is the one published when you bought something or agreed to start working with me. Significant changes affecting current clients will be communicated directly.

10. Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms and to any agreement between us. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the law in your country of residence.
