Our Mission & Philosophy

Holistic Mental Health Centre in Leiden, The Netherlands

Our Mission: Meet you in the wholeness of being human

We co-create spaces where people feel safe, seen, and accepted – so they can show up authentically for themselves and the world.

Why?

In a world leaning toward hyper-individualism, we believe in healing together – because healing (and therefore wholeness) is found in connection. At The Circle Clinic, we’re committed to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels genuinely safe and valued.

How?

In increasing degrees of accessibility (we recognise that starting therapy off the bat can be quite intimidating):

  1. Therapy: Individuals, Couples & Assisted Journeys – holistic, evidence-based therapy tailored to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and multicultural communities
  2. Circles: Workshops, Support Groups & For Organisations spaces where people can come together to find strength in each other’s stories – empowering, educating and belonging
  3. Resources: Online Courses, Blog & Tools self-discovery, inspiration and growth, letting you digest them at your own pace, wherever in the world you are

Our Philosophy: Contribute to a community rooted in care

At The Circle Clinic, we believe that mental health care is a fundamental right, not privilege.

What?

Inspired by John Rawls’ principles of distributive justice (particularly his thought experiment on fairness) we aim to create a society where resources are distributed to benefit everyone, especially those who are most disadvantaged. This philosophy shapes our mission to provide therapy and mental health support that is inclusive, compassionate, and accessible.

How?
  • A sliding scale payment system lets those with more resources contribute, easing access for those with less
  • A range of offerings (Therapy Services, Community Circles, and Resources) ensures support at every level of accessibility, commitment and financial means
  • In Ishana’s hometown in rural South India, she regularly offers pro bono talks, workshops, and counselling to disadvantaged communities, and in Leiden she worked closely with Rap100 to volunteer meditations and space holding for nearly 5 years
Fun Fact:

The children’s bookstore beneath our practice, Silvester, is an incredible charity dedicated to the mission “a book for every child.” Our rent directly supports their work, providing financial and educational aid to disadvantaged children. So when you engage with The Circle Clinic, you’re part of a ripple effect that supports young lives and fosters community growth. We love full-circle moments!

For us, it’s not just about providing therapy; it’s about building a community rooted in care, equity, and connection – where each person has the opportunity to reclaim their wholeness.
