Body Image Workshop
Embody radical body self-acceptance
From Body-Shame to Appreciation
3-Week workshop at The Circle Clinic in Leiden, The Netherlands
What's The Workshop About?
Body shame is more than just insecurity – it’s a learned belief that our bodies are not good enough. Rooted in societal beauty standards, it erodes at our relationship with ourselves. But it doesn’t have to stay that way – beliefs can be rewritten!
This workshop is designed to help you do just that, to move from self-judgment to appreciation. Through open discussions, creative expression, and therapeutic tools, we’ll challenge our shaming and cultivate a kinder, more accepting relationship with our bodies.
The Therapeutic Themes:
Part 1 – Unlearn the Sources of Body Shame
Part 2 – Challenge the Myth of the ‘Perfect Body’
Part 3 – Embody Radical Body Self-Acceptance
Workshop's Objective:
Become friends with your body, by shifting your relationship with it from shaming it, to fully embracing it.

Q & A:
What can I expect in this workshop?
- 3 x 2-hour workshop time
- An intimate group of maximum 10 people
- A thoughtfully designed, physically bound workbook with research-based insights, therapeutic exercises, journaling prompts and additional resources
- Organic herbal teas, nourishing vegan snacks, and a home-baked treat (with dietary requirements accounted for)
- A toolkit of practical strategies to help you resist body shame
Do I need any prior experience to join?
Not at all! This workshop is designed for both beginners and those already familiar with self-development practices.
Will I have to share personal experiences with the group?
You, and only you choose how much or how little you would like to share.
Shame is an emotion, with a tendency to want to hide – so the more you share, the more you can process the shame into empowerment.
However, there is no pressure on you to share anything you are not comfortable with!
Can I join if I struggle with mental health challenges?
Absolutely. This workshop is designed to be a supportive space for exploring procrastination in a gentle, non-judgmental way.
However, it’s not a substitute for therapy. If you’re currently under the care of a therapist, feel free to discuss whether this workshop aligns with your goals.
Will the workshop be a safe and confidential space for me to share my experiences and feelings?
Yes. Confidentiality (respect for your privacy) and feeling safe (emotionally, physically, and psychologically) are paramount.
We ensure this by filtering for participants who can commit to maintaining one another’s confidentiality, joining with respect for one another, and showing up with an open heart and mind. This will also be thoroughly reinforced in our first session.
Throughout the workshop, our team has integrated mechanisms to ensure that you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and feelings without fear of judgment. To help increase this sense of safety, we ask that all electronic devices be kept out of our workshop space.
Will there be follow-up support for me after the workshop?
Yes! You’ll receive a curated list of additional readings, online resources, and practical tools to continue your journey. We can also provide referrals if you feel you need further support.
Can I get a refund if I can’t make it to all the workshop sessions?
Unless it’s an emergency, no. Please let us know upfront – so that you don’t sign up for something you wouldn’t be able to attend.
In this case we would advise that you follow the self study online workshop once it’s available on our website.
Is the space wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately not. We are working on a solution for this for the next editions of our workshop, since we strive to make the workshop accessible to everyone. Perhaps an immediate solution could be to follow the online version. Please let us know if this is the case for you.
